CUPCAKES, YUM :)
If I were to write anything…it would have to be funny.
I think that I am compelled to leak to everyone a bit of my brain. Wether anyone reads it, it will be unknown to me. It takes me a while to figure out all the intricate parts of social networking. Facebook took me years. But, I feel a need to tell the stories I see, and if they happen to be funny and enjoyed, that’s all I can hope for.
Ahh, Brookyn. Just by saying that you live in Brooklyn, makes one feel sophisticated. Like we figured something out other people haven’t found out about yet. At least that is what the young, white, immigrants to this side of the tracks would say. While I enjoy living in this growing borough, I can’t help but pay attention to the detrimental effects, we, as in, we the young professionals pushing our nihilist beliefs and vintage motifs, have done to this once prominent ghetto.
The gentrification of this city can be summed up with one word, CUPCAKES. Apparently, cupcakes are the only way that Brooklyn can become as big of a metropolis as Manhattan. They bring the community together by showing that everyone, no matter where you come from, will always have a craving for a cupcake. Except the poor. They don’t get any. That’s how you weed out the weak. If you can’t afford a single cupcake, for just $8, then you best be walking. If I were Brooklyn born survivor, I would boycott the cupcake places. They are the reason people are getting kicked out of their homes. They are the reason rent has been skyrocketing. They are the reason this city has bedbugs.
As an epic homage to the Brooklynite that came before us, I say take a stand. However, I really am not the one to organize anything, in fact, I would rather just sit in the corner and laugh at you all thinking you can make a difference with cupcakes.
Cheers!.
